‘Chun’nam Ani Kan’dam’ a book in Roman script Konkani written by well known Roman script Konkani writer, Freelance Journalist and columnist Daniel F. de Souza, will be released at the hands of Rev. Fr. Jose Antonio Da Costa, Parish Priest of St. Andrew Church, on Sunday
14th November 2010 at Hotel La Paz Gardens, Vasco, Goa.
Dr. Francisco Colaco, eminent cardiologist and Konkani lover will be the Guest of Honour. Shri Vincy Quadros, Vice President of the Goa Konkani Academi has penned the foreword for the book while Artist Domnic Cordo has designed the attractive front cover. The book is published by Talia Prokaxon and is the third publication of the Vasco based author.
‘Chun’nam Ani Kanddam’ is a collection of 16 selective humorous essays which were earlier published in various Konkani magazines and other publications. The essays are the author’s inspirational and creative works based on day to day happenings and every essay conveys a message in a lighter vein. The book is so named after Goa’s seasonal fruit of white and black berries found on the hilly regions and synonymous with its sweet and sour taste.
The author’s first book ‘Koslich Malis Nastana’ published in 2007 had won him two literary awards, one from Thomas Stephen’s Kendr, Porvorim and the other from Konknni Bhasa Mandal and it was also short listed for the Kala Academy’s literary Award.
According to information provided by the author to goa-world.com team, the book is also scheduled to be released in Kuwait on the same day under the auspices of Kuwait Konknni Kendr (KKK).
