'Kaddyo-Boddyo' (a collection of short stories) released



PILAR, November 11, 2009: 'Kaddyo-Boddyo' (a collection of short stories) in Roman Konkani by Konkani writer Pio Esteves, was released today at the hands of the Vice-Postulator for the Cause of Venerable Fr Agnelo de Souza, Fr Hilary Fernandes at Pilar hillock. The book comprises of 10 short stories based on true life incidents. Some of the stories also revolves around family and social issues, providing a message or two for the reader.

Earlier, the vocation promotor at Pilar seminary, Fr Adrian briefed about the book and mentioned that besides the sweetness of 'kaddyo-boddyo' available at various fairs, it also has medicinal value. He said that the recently release book will definitely provide food for thought for the reader.


Speaking on the occasion, Fr Fernandes complimented the author for his contribution towards the Konkani language and urged the audience to assist authors who work tirelessly for the cause of the mother tongue.

This is the fifth book from the same author. His earlier books include 'Kupam,' Pakham,' 'Ambott-Tik,' and 'Sallkam' were well received by Konkani lovers.
